Since ancient times, Japanese has been praying for a good harvest of rice to the gods and Buddha.
AT the time of harvest, they dedicated the first rice called “Hatsuho” to the gods and Buddha.
Sake is made from rice under divine protection. They take good care of it and put their heart into making it.

In the past, Sake brewing was one of the Shinto rituals.
Even now some shrines retain tradition of Sake brewing.
There is a legend that it was God to teach human Sake brewing.
In this way, the relationship between Shinto and Buddhism and Sake is strong, and Sake is also offered to the Kamidana.
People have given Sake as a valuable offering and please God in doing so.
